Payton's Travels

We arrived in Grenada and headed straight to the beach! From -30 degrees to +30 degrees in one day! I was so excited to see buba again.

We hit the beach, made sandcastles, surfed the waves, and enjoyed the sunset to finish this first day in Grenada.

Today was my second day in beautiful Grenada, and it was filled with so much fun! I started my day at the beach, where the sand was warm and the water was super blue. I even got to play in a beach-side pool that had the coolest waterfall! 💦 I’m learning to swim, and I wore my floaties on my arms to help me stay safe. I practiced jumping into the pool, and guess what? I did cannonballs from the waterfall! It was so much fun to splash into the water! 🌈 After all that swimming, we went for supper at a restaurant called Umbrellas. It was really nice, and while we were eating, a little girl from another table came over to say hi. She wanted to sit with me! We shared smiles and yummy food. 🍽️

We went in the ministry this morning. People here in Grenada really like talking about the bible, so it was easy to get conversations started. The hard part is walking up steep hills. And we also had a quick rain shower just as we were about to start. But we made it through the rain and had a great time sharing bible truths with the people of Grenada. Later in the morning we did a bible study with two girls (Isriel and Kezil) and their mom. We had a great time sharing bible truths with them and they were so excited to learn more about the bible.

I went to the Sunday meeting at the Kingdom Hall in Grenada this morning. Isriel and Kezil also came to the meeting - it was their first time ever to go to a meeting at the Kingdom Hall. I also met many other new friends from the congregation.

We went to the Grand Anse beach today and found a starfish! I was a little scared at first, but then I realized it was just a starfish. We also found a lot of sea shells and my mom saw a turtle when she was snorkeling nearby. We had a great time playing in the ocean.

Jax is our friend's dog and he likes to play in the pool. He is a very good boy and he loves to play with us. We were teaching him how to do the doggy paddle. :)

Did you know Grenada is a volcanic island? We went to the top of the volcano today and saw some monkeys! They were so cute and they were playing in the trees. We also saw a lake that is actually the crater of the volcano. There were Koi fish in the lake!

The Annandale waterfall is so beautiful! And the water is so warm and refreshing! We even went under the waterfall! We also saw a lot of fish in the water.

We finished the afternoon at Coconut Beach while we swam in the ocean and watched the sunset. It was so beautiful! We also saw a hermit crab on the beach.

We also saw fish at the Grand Anse Mall. They were so colorful and they were swimming in the water. Most of them were Kio fish that look like giant goldfish. But there was also a catfish that has whiskers like a cat!

We went to the circuit assembly in Grenada today. We had so many friends there. And the baptism was in the ocean! It was neat to watch, but it rained and we got wet when we watched the baptism.

Welcome Rock is a lookout point on the north side of the island. It is a beautiful view of the ocean and the island of Carriacou. It was a bit scary because it is so high up, but it was worth it to see the view. We also went to the Petite Anse Resort and had a great time swimming in the pool overlooking the ocean. My baba says this is her favorite place in Grenada.

We had a great time at the beach today. We played in the water and built sandcastles. Then we had pizza at Prickly Bay. A few other friends met us there also.

Today was the last day at the beach. We are going home soon and won't be back to the beach again before we leave Grenada. We saw 2 more starfish in the water - one was a baby one. I also went to the Grand Anse market to buy gifts for my friends and family back home.

This is our last full day in Grenada. I started the day in the ministry with my friends. Then we spent the afternoon at the pool at La Phare Bleu. In the evening our friends met up with us at La Phare Bleu for a farewell supper. We were dancing and having a great time!

We flew to New York today. We are going to spend a few days touring bethel and the MET museum. We got to the hotel very late. And it is cold and snowy in New York.

Today we toured the bethel at Patterson. My favorite part was the bible village where it was like actually being in the time of 1st century Israel. They demonstrated how they lived and worked and how they worshipped. They had live actors and we got to interact with them. It was a lot of fun!

Today we did a bible tour at the MET museum. Our tour guide was Georgia, and I made a new friend, Aliana. She was the same age as me. We had a great time exploring the museum and learning about the bible.
